Professional Tree Topping for San Bernardino, Colton, Redlands, Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga, Rialto, Fontana, Yucaipa and beyond!
The process of topping trees involves removing the entire tops of trees or large branches and/or trunks from the tops of trees, leaving stubs or lateral branches that can't function as terminal leaders. Other common names for the process include hat-racking, heading, and rouling.
Trees have been known to be topped to stimulate new growth. When a tree is topped, adventitious shoots called suckers grow from the wound to compensate for the sudden absence of leaves.
Arborists are also hired for aesthetic reasons. Trees can block a mountain view, shade a garden, or interfere with solar energy collection. As a result, the tree never completely recovers its natural shape.
